Common equipment

The hardware that is not specific to one sport but supports competitions across swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming, and open water. Where the per-discipline sections catalog the gear unique to a sport, this section covers the shared infrastructure: the displays that show results, the console platforms that serve more than one sport, and the cabling, audio, and data equipment that ties a timing system together.

What lives here¶

Common equipment is grouped by role:

• Scoreboards and video displays, the fixed and modular boards that show times, scores, and standings for any sport.
• Timing consoles, the console platforms that run more than one sport from the same hardware.
• Cabling and connectors, the deck plates, harnesses, and wiring that link lane and field hardware back to the console.
• Public address and audio, the announcer, horn, and loudspeaker equipment used at the pool.
• Network and data hardware, the interfaces that move results between the console, scoreboard, and meet-management software.
• Power and support gear, the supplies, batteries, and enclosures that keep the system running.

Scoreboards, the boards that show times, scores and event information, covering the numeric, matrix and LED video generations, and scoreboard control, the adapters and controllers that feed them, and pace clocks, the training-side displays and the controllers that program them:
