Diving equipment

The hardware used to run a diving competition, the judging and scoring gear that turns a panel’s marks into a result, the displays that show it, and the pool-surface equipment that supports the dive itself. Diving is a judged sport, so its equipment centres on collecting judges’ scores rather than measuring a time against a clock.

What lives here¶

Diving equipment is grouped by role:

• Judges’ terminals, the handheld or deck keypads each judge uses to enter a raw score for a dive.
• Diving scoring systems, the console and software that combine each judge’s mark with the dive’s degree of difficulty and total a round.
• Displays and scoreboards, the boards that show the current dive, the judges’ marks, and the running standings.
• Surface agitation systems, the sparger or “bubbler” that ripples the water surface so divers can read its position, and the related aeration used in training.

Springboards, platforms, and the diving well itself are the field of play, not equipment, and are out of scope here.
