The Active Network

The Active Network is an American software company in event registration and participation management. It appears in this register for one reason: since 2008 it has owned Hy-Tek Sports Software, whose programs run most competitive swimming meets in the United States.¹

Active announced the purchase on 8 July 2008, buying Hodgson’s Hurricanes, Inc. and certain assets of T&C Products, Inc., the two entities trading together as HY-TEK Sports Software. Terms were not disclosed. The release listed team and meet management, athlete training and performance software, administrative tracking, a web-based Team Manager Online and products for Palm OS handhelds among what changed hands.¹ Active describes the Hy-Tek branded products as owned, copyrighted and supported by it.²

It also owns Meet Mobile, the live-results application that publishes what Meet Manager scores, which it acquired separately.³

Active makes no aquatics equipment and is not otherwise covered here.
